Proofing Excel database against online source material
I have an Excel database of around 1,200 contacts copied from page 44-137 of the Meat Contacts Directory 2012, a flash-based online publication at www.meatcontacts.com. It is attached. However, the initial freelancer who produced this database made many errors such as mis-spellings, incorrectly copied entries and missing entries. I therefore need someone to proof-read the Excel database against the online original, correct all the errors and add any missing companies. I would like anything that is changed to be highlighted in red so I can see where changes have been made. The contacts have been taken from three sections of the online source material. Cold storage facilities p44-53. Red meat plants pages p55-110. Poultry meat plants p112-137. There are three worksheets on the Excel database corresponding to these three sections of the directory and it is presented in the same order as the online source material. It needs to remain in the same order as the online source material. The Red meat plants and Poultry meat plants sections have an additional classification of Slaughterhouse or Cutting Plant. This classification has been indicated with Yes or No. All details must be checked and updates made where errors are found. License numbers are not included on the database and are not required. Once the amended database has been submitted, random lines will be checked to ensure it has been accurately checked through and updated correctly. If errors remain the selected freelancer will be required to check through the whole database again before the milestone payment will be released. Initial accuracy if therefore important to avoid unncessary re-checking work.
